A 2024 BMC Neuroscience study found lower frontal beta-wave activity in 40 participants wearing TrueDark Twilight filtering glasses compared with clear lenses or no glasses during five-minute resting recordings. The authors suggested a possible link to relaxation, but the mechanism was uncertain and the study did not establish improvements in anxiety or focus. There was no equally dark neutral-lens control.
The Jetpack sample has approximately 76% mean attenuation across 380–570 nm, calculated as the unweighted mean of 39 measurements at 5 nm intervals. The study reported 99% blocking for its lenses. The products are not equivalent; Jetpack has not been clinically tested for calm or medical conditions.
The supplier report gives 45% luminous transmission, 29% Tsb transmission over 380–500 nm, and 0% transmission at 400 nm at reported precision. Percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number. These describe one sample and test state, not clinical benefits.
